SuSE became the best-known Linux distribution in Germany because it features an accompagnying booklet and installation system in German for all the ignorant krauts living here.

Suprisingly, SuSE managed to get some reputation in North America as well.

We happen to dislike it a bit because of its YAST tool. Reminds us of AIX's "smit". A layer of extra configurational gear which just gets into the way, if you are asking us.
